Huh. It's already after 3pm here!  :P

Should you both accept, I'd say you and the Mrs. are being more than generous. I don't know if I'd be happy with that, this was a particular egregious and slimy move on part of the bank. Then again, it is possible they could NEVER offer me enough money to NOT tell the story to anyone who'd listen!  >:(

Between stuff like this and bank's lynch-mob style foreclosures on INCORRECT residences, someone honestly needs to put these people in their place.

Does your state consumer protection laws have an option to rescind the transaction? Offer to give them back the car for all the money they received.

They demanded that I sign an NDA. I refused, and they finally gave up on it and paid her $5000 with an NDA and she ended her relationship with them.

Since they continued to CC me any emails after they KNEW that she had revoked permission for them to communicate with me about the matter I am forwarding everything to the appropriate people. They chose to forward me EVERYTHING about the case (in violation of several state and federal laws) and I am not bound to keep quiet, so I won't be.
